Tabitha Foundation Cambodia is a sustainable non-profit organisation founded and established by Ms. Janne Ritskes in 1994.

One of Tabitha’s core values is to operate with minimal overhead and running costs., and therefore get the donations to the people that need them the most. Funds are prioritized to help the poorest people in Cambodia through programs that focus on financial and personal development.

Since our inception we have helped reach over half million people, working directly with more than 30,000 families through our high impact community development programs. We are currently working in thirty seven (37) areas within fifteen provinces (15) in Cambodia.

Support groups have been established in Australia, Singapore, Canada, USA, UK, Netherlands, Dubai, Hong Kong, China and other countries by Janne’s friends and supporters with the united goal of alleviating poverty in Cambodia. They are continually fundraising and supporting the programs of Tabitha Cambodia.

Tabitha Cambodia’s main activity is helping families with the Savings Program (Family Partnership). An average family in Cambodia earns less than $1(US) a day. Before joining Tabitha Cambodia, many families have no savings or may only save a few cents each week. The Savings Program helps Cambodians set goals to make their lives better.  Tabitha staff make weekly visits to families to guide, support and help manage their savings. After 10 weeks, the families reinvest their savings to buy items they identified in their initial goal setting. To reinforce the benefits of saving, they start the cycle again, to achieve new dreams and goals.

After 5 – 7 years, families in the Savings Program will have enough food, clean water, shelter and a sustainable source of income. Once a sustainable lifestyle has been achieved, Cambodian families can consider improving their potential with education, and increased earning activities.
